Tasks

  • Product development of activated carbon canisters for automotive applications
  • Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing and quality assurance, to bring products from concept to production readiness
  • Review and approval of 3D models and 2D drawings to ensure they meet functional, manufacturability, and quality requirements
  • Definition and execution of validation plans (DV/PV) for activated carbon canisters according to customer and regulatory requirements
  • Coordination and analysis of laboratory tests for activated carbon canisters
  • Troubleshooting issues in development, production, or in the field
  • Managing product development timelines and ensuring that key milestones are achieved
  • Ensuring that designs comply with global emission standards (EU, EPA, CARB, etc.) and customer specifications. 

Expectations

  • Completed technical training (technician) or technical studies (Dipl.-Ing. Master / Bachelor, FH, TH or university) in the field of mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, manufacturing technology or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in product development in the automotive sector, preferably in the field of fuel or evaporative emission systems
  • Experience in collaboration with global automobile manufacturers or Tier-1 suppliers.
  • Knowledge of activated carbon technology and evaporative emission systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with 3D/2D product design, GD&T and tolerance stacking.
  • Experience with CAD/FEA/CFD is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA and DVP&R.
  • Experience with injection molding and plastic component design.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Multilingualism (especially German and English) is an advantage for global collaboration.
  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
